We employ and train women from vulnerable, low-skilled backgrounds, equipping them to become skilled tailors and breadwinners in their families. This work brings income, confidence, and long-term stability.
Alongside them, we work with experienced artisans and production staff—women and men—whose skills ensure quality, mentorship, and continuity of craft.
Every Aasara piece is made through collaboration, care, and respect for the people behind it.

Our philosophy of imperfectly perfect developed out of our work with kantha and upcycled materials. These products are made from reclaimed saris, vintage textiles, and the off cuts of our dresses – we make sure nothing goes to waste. Because of their past life, the fabric may carry small marks, gentle fading, or irregularities in pattern. At times, colours and prints don’t align neatly – but when brought together through careful design and handwork, they form something uniquely beautiful.
Each kantha and upcycled piece is imperfectly perfect – one of a kind, unrepeatable, and rich with character.

Our garments are produced in small batches using hand-loomed fabrics and traditional hand block prints, created in partnership with village artisans who are preserving centuries-old crafts. Each stage of the process — from printing to stitching — is done by hand, not machines.
Because we work in limited runs and with natural, artisan-made fabrics, our designs are always evolving. Prints change, materials vary, and once a batch is gone, it may not return in the same way again.
We choose small-batch production over mass manufacturing, valuing skilled labour, time, and craft. The result is clothing made with care — and meant to be worn with intention.

Aasara & Co. was born out of a simple belief:
beautiful things should be made slowly, honestly, and with care for the people who create them.
Our work centres around handcrafted textiles from India, especially kantha pieces made from recycled saris. Each jacket, blanket, or textile carries layers of history — fabrics once worn, now thoughtfully stitched into something new.
We work closely with women artisans and tailors, many of whom are building skills and stable livelihoods through their craft. Every piece is made by hand, not machines, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. No two items are ever exactly the same — and that is what makes them special.
Sustainability for us is not a trend. It is a practice. By reusing existing fabrics, valuing skilled labour, and producing in small batches, we choose slow fashion over mass production.
When you hold one of our kantha pieces, you are holding more than a product.
You are holding time, care, and a story of dignity and craft.
